Escaped ministers and MPs join Sheikh Hasina’s virtual rally in London

Ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina held a virtual rally with leaders in London, UK. Several ministers, state ministers and members of parliament from the previous Awami League government were seen in the audience of that rally. The former cabinet secretary was also seen. All of them have been absconding since August 5. Accurate information about their whereabouts was not available. Finally, they were seen together at the London rally.

An audio of that rally was posted on the Awami League’s verified X handle today, Monday (December 9).

The poster for the rally shows that the Awami League organized a rally at a theater on Milner Road, London, on Sunday afternoon (December 8). Sheikh Hasina, the party’s president and general secretary, was the main speaker at the meeting.

The rally is organized by the UK Awami League. The invitation poster includes the names of UK Awami League president Sultan Mahmud Sharif and general secretary Syed Sajidur Rahman Farooq.

Former Fisheries and Livestock Minister Abdur Rahman, former State Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury, former Member of Parliament Habibur Rahman Habib, and former Cabinet Secretary Kabir Bin Anwar were seen in the audience of the rally.

Abdur Rahman, Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury, Habibur Rahman Habib and Kabir Bin Anwar were seen in public for the first time at this London rally since the fall of the Awami League government on August 5.

On October 1, the court banned Kabir Bin Anwar and his wife Taufiqa Ahmed from leaving the country following an application by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).Former Fisheries and Livestock Minister Abdur Rahman, former State Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury, former Member of Parliament Habibur Rahman Habib, and former Cabinet Secretary Kabir Bin Anwar were seen in the audience of the rally.

Sheikh Hasina fled the country and took refuge in India on August 5 in the face of the student uprising. She is currently staying in India. However, it is not clear where she is staying in India.
